#15 - 31st & Pillsbury Ave. S.

#15 - 31st & Pillsbury Ave. S., Jan. 2012.
10" x 20" acrylic on canvas.  (sold)

This was from a photo (part of a larger group of photos) taken the
previous summer.  My friend Chris S. was in town visiting and
he was kind enough to help me out with his time and photo talent.  We
drove around South and Southeast Minneapolis looking for interesting
alleys.  I drove - he snapped - we came back with a lot to work with.
I sorted out a bunch to use for longer sittings, or when I can't get out with
a sketchbook, or want to try something different.  Some months later,
another friend and I did the same downtown.  I plan to do that again a
couple more times before I'm done.  It's been a great way to keep this
moving along.

    1. Thanks Cat. Keeping to basic shapes and with a limited palette focuses the sparse alley and hacked up tree better than detail would. Someone around here argued that it was unfinished. Any more would be unnecessary.
